It was the second to last chance for poets to try and get their name sin position for a CapSlam Semis invite so you KNOW that the poets were coming hard!

The top two names in the rankings were both on stage, but in a non-slamming capacity as PrufRock was host and Rusty Priske was in his DJ RPM role.

After an open mic with Mayhem, Angel Heart and Papa Abekah providing the content, it was on to the slam!

And what is a slam without a little sacrificial blood? Today it came in the form of visiting poet, Estefania! 8.7 9.2 9.2 9.0 8.2 – 26.9

Then, who would be the unlucky bullet? Candice Bruchhaeuser! 9.0 9.0 9.1 9.3 8.7 – 27.1

Next was CPC Director, Brad Morden! 9.3 9.6 9.3 9.5 8.9 BUT he went 3:12 and garnered a .5 time penalty for a total of 27.6

Next was Ceileidh, getting her third slam in… 9.3 9.5 9.5 9.6 9.6 – 28.6!!

Marz read a letter to the crowd, and got numbers in return. 8.7 8.6 9.0 9.0 9.2 – 26.7

He was followed by Loose Change! 8.2 8.4 8.7 9.0 9.0 – 26.1

Shaun Sullivan was there, getting his work in! 9.4 9.6 9.6 9.8 9.9 – 29.0

Nina Strange became the newest two-timer on the circuit. 9.0 9.3 9.2 9.5 9.5 – 28.0

Joesph Sic red his pome necst (sic). 8.7 8.7 9.0 9.3 9.1 – 26.8

Kay Kassirer, one of the hot new voices this season, served up some poetic sustenance… 9.3 9.1 9.5 9.3 9.3 – 27.9

Gavin Russell, fresh of a second place finish in the CIPS qualifier, did his thing! 9.2 9.3 9.8 9.8 9.8 – 28.9

The last two poets made their CapSlamming debuts, starting with Chuck (who slams at OYPS and had done the CapSlam open mic). 9.4 9.2 9.4 9.0 9.7 – 28.0

Lastly was a member of the reigning CFSW champions, Philosofly! 9.0 9.6 9.7 9.8 9.8 – 29.1

After a break filled with a musical interlude by Jah Will, we got a set by Can-City Transplant, DMP!

Don’t Mess with the Penguin!

For the second round, we normally have five poets, but due to a tie for fifth, tonight we had six.

We kicked off with Nina Strange! 9.0 9.3 9.4 9.4 9.4 – 28.1

Next was Chuck! 9.0 9.2 9.3 9.7 9.7 – 28.2

Third up was Gavin Russell (clap, clap, clap-clap-clap)… 9.3 9.5 9.8 9.8 TEN! – 29.1

Philosofly channeled a little Pacino… 9.3 9.3 9.6 9.7 9.8 – 28.6

Shaun Sullivan was the penultimate poet of the penultimate slam – 9.4 9.5 9.8 9.8 9.9 – 29.1

Ceileidh finished things off! 9.2 9.2 9.6 9.7 9.8 – 28.5
