COLLEEN LEAFLOOR

The first of our CapSlam semi-finalists spotlights is on COLLEEN LEAFLOOR.

Colleen made her Capital Slam debut in September of last year… and what a debut she made! She not only got a 10 with her first ever slam poem (and an amazing 29.1 over all) , but when the dust settled she was a part of our first ever 3-way tie for first place for that slam! Standing on stage alongside scene veterans Loh El and ArRay-of-WoRds told the crowd right off the bat that Colleen was a poetic force to be reckoned with!

Colleen joined the slamming ranks with enthusiasm as she became a regular not only at Capital Slam, but she made strong appearances at Urban Legends and the Ottawa Youth Poetry Slam as well.

As this is her first year, this is her first time in the semi-finals, and she is one of three poets in the event who could win the Rookie of the Year honour. (Check the bottom of the post to see what amazing poets have won this award over the years…)

Check out some media and video of the talented Colleen Leafloor!
